Imagineering grew out of Garry Kitchen’s Absolute Entertainment studio in Glen Rock, New Jersey, and between 1988 and 1993 became a prolific contract developer across the 8‑ and 16‑bit scene. The team’s trademark was fast, faithful conversions of hot licenses—TV shows, toys and game shows—backed by lively pixel art and catchy chiptunes. On the PC they left a trio of standout DOS titles: the vibrant platformer Barbie (1992), the quiz‑show adaptation Super Jeopardy! (1991) and the quirky The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants (1991).
