Founded in Redmond, Washington, in 1993, Lobotomy Software punched above its weight in the golden age of shooters. Best remembered for its celebrated Sega Saturn ports of Quake and Duke Nukem 3D, the studio’s lone native MS-DOS release is the Egyptian-themed FPS PowerSlave. Launched in 1996 on a tweaked Build engine, it blends brisk run-and-gun combat with exploration, secret-packed temples and mystical power-ups. Sharp sprites, layered maps and a pulse-pounding soundtrack earned it cult status that endures today. Lobotomy closed in 1999 after a brief spell under Crave Entertainment, but PowerSlave remains the team’s lasting legacy—and you can fire up the original DOS version right here on this page, instantly and completely free.
